The People

We are part of the Waiapu Anglican Social Service Trust Board and just one of their many Social Services. We reflect their Vision, Mission, Values and Goals.

We are licensed by the Ministry of Education and adhere to the rules, regulations and guidelines they set.

We weave Te Whaariki (New Zealand’s Early Childhood Curriculum) into all areas of the children’s learning.

The Early Childhood Practice Manager and Licensee oversee the management and governance of Anglican Childcare.

The Manager is responsible for the day to day running of our childcare organisation, the placing of children and is the first port of call for parents and Educarers.

Registered Early childhood teachers (Visiting Teachers) visit all Educarers and children at least once a month. During this visit they work with the Educarer to develop a plan for the next month based on the children’s strengths and interests with learning outcomes from TeWhaariki. Profile books are shared and photos of each child are taken as a record of their time in care. Support, encouragement, guidance and ideas are shared and health and safety checks are done. Visiting Teachers leave a note for parents after each visit with contact details so parents are able to  discuss their child’s care and learning.

Administration staff help with all the financial queries: accounts, WINZ childcare subsidies, 20 FREE.

Our After School and Holiday programme is staffed by Adult and student supervisors who provide and exciting range of activities for 20-30 school age children.

Support staff ensure the premises are kept clean and hygienic and the grounds maintained.
